I don't believe Pegula is ready to beat Iga on a clay court. You never know what the future holds, but that's a tall order for anyone right now.
I think someone who's gonna beat Iga on clay would have to have enough power to hit through the conditions and not allow Iga to do everything she can on the court. I think Jess can beat Iga on quick courts as she did at United Cup, but she has to be at her best. I also think Jess could be a great grass court player someday when she gets a little bit more used to moving on the surface. Every player has a learning curve when figuring out grass, but her flat groundstrokes should work well.
Hope you're enjoying the tennis in Madrid and thanks for the comment.
Interesting analysis. Do you believe Pegula can beat Iga in a hypothetic semifinal?
Hey Javier, just seeing this now.
